Hi there. My name is Daniel Vogl and I’m a photo & video journalist based in Coburg, Bavaria.
My work has appeared in The Guardian, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Süddeutsche Zeitung.
When I'm not behind the camera or editing images, you can find me playing music or roaming the great outdoors.

I studied Photojournalism & Documentary Photography and Design & Media at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover and Photography at the Royal Academy of Arts The Hague.
I was a photographer at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.).
My photobook „Walter“ was nominated for the Kassel Dummy Award and was exhibited worldwide.

I am happy to realize your visual visions with you. This includes reportage, editorial, advertising and personal assignments via photography and cinematography.
If you want to know a little more about me:
I love wandering around the city and the suburbs, walk my camera and make pictures of the everyday, Eggleston-Style ;)
What’s on my pancake, you ask? Maple syrup or chocolate cream.
Right now I’m reading Photo Work by Sasha Wolf, The Art of Fiction by John Gardner and Known and Strange Things by Teju Cole. Not all at once, of course.
Do you know The War on Drugs or Kurt Vile? That’s my everyday soundtrack.
Right now I am thinking about how to play the arpeggio in Cmaj7 on the guitar, which is quite tricky.
My special talent, besides finding beauty in the ordinary and distilling it in my photographs, is cooking.

I got into photography by fooling around with my grandpa's old cameras and ruining a bunch of photo paper in my pop-up darkroom set-up in my mom's basement laundry room.
After realizing that I could study the part of photography that interested me: discovering something new every single day, meeting people and learning about different types of lifestyles, and being an active part of what happens around me every day, my heart fell for it.
